2006 Chevrolet 2500 - Rear brakes first?

use towing boat all the time, only rear brakes wear still have orig. pads on fronts mostly highway miles

Not uncommon with or without towing. My front brakes outlasted the rears by about 6,000 miles.

I believe your truck has brake proportioning, which applies the rear brakes more when the truck has a load. Certainly the extra weight of a trailer would count as a “load.”

Yup, completely normal.

You’re reversing out the driveway too quickly every morning

Seriously ?

Another possible factor: When launching or retrieving the boat, do you partially immerse the rear tires in the water? This can result in more rust forming on the rear brake assemblies compared to the front, especially if you boat in salt water.
