The brake pedal interlock switch may be bad, or the shift lever interlock solenoid may be bad.
Tester
There should be a very tiny removable panel on the top of the center console, near the shift lever. Use a small screw driver to pry that little piece off of the console, and it will expose a release mechanism, which you can probably activate with the small screwdriver.
I can’t be more specific as to the exact location of the release mechanism, but your Owner’s Manual should have a complete explanation, probably including an illustration.
