Hello I have been thinking of purchasing a Element , but upon researching the vehicle it seems to have some significant problems: electrical problems and electrical fires? / starter? / vetec / vvti? / poor mileage etc. etc. What’s your experience?

Read your own post. You listed several reasons to look for something else. Just think how upset you will be if you buy one and have all these problems.
