2005 Dodge Caravan [4 cyl.] timing belt broke going 60 MPH on highway- is the engine any good? One opinion is that the engine needs to be replaced.
According to Gates this engine is not an interference engine. The engine should not be trashed. A properly installed new belt, tensioner, and water pump are in order.

Chances are good it just needs a new belt. And you might as well also do the water pump and tensioner for good measure while its apart.
