Re 2004 Toyota Highlander Base with leather
Problem: A bump felt in the steering wheel when turning (no brakes applied), starting, stopping and going over a bump. I am the promary driver and can really feel something is not right. My husband cannot feel it and I have not taken a mechanic for a spin yet. Joan
Check for a possible loose mounting bolt on the steering rack.
If this is an AWD (All Wheel Drive) vehicle, make very sure that all four tires are the exact same size, and have the exact same amount of wear. Tires which are worn to a slightly different diameter can cause a bunch of costly repair in an AWD vehicle. This is another reason to rotate the wheels/tires on a regular basis.
