I have a 2004 Impala which I know that there was a recall on the ignition switch at one time shutting off going down the road. I took it in on the recall, but I am still having the same thing happening again. What can be done to keep from stopping?
If I understand the issue correctly that recall was a pretty serious one. People died. Get back to the dealer. And remove anything from your ignition key. No ring, no added keys. Nothing.
The recall was to resolve a mechanical problem, the ignition switch could rotate too easily and be switched off unintentionally. Your stalling problem is likely an unrelated electrical problem.
A faulty crankshaft position sensor will cause the engine to shut off as you drive down the road.

Is the key turning and stopping it or is it stalling without the key turning?
