my cruise control will not engage and the left turn signal fails to operate

Check you fuses, for both. Check your turn signal bulbs. Th likely culprit is the multi-function turn signal and cruise control stalk. They tend to wear out over 14 years. 14 year old car, stuff breaks.

Most of the time for lights that dont work its just a bulb needs replacing. now as far as cruse control its most likely a fuse or the little cables in the throttle area have become stretched and need adjusting. I my self never used my cruise control I use my foot on the gas peddle like grandpa did.

You might want to check the switch under the brake pedal. Sometimes it can get moved.

Check if the left brake light works.

If not, the cruise control won’t work.
