I bought a 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe. I have replaced the crankshaft sensor and other things due the car keeps shutting off while driving or shuts off after it runs for a while. My mechanic has tried every thing does anyone have any ideas?
Any idea I post would be a wild guess. I’ll ask you a few questions and if you answer them, maybe I can make a useful guess…
Is the check engine light (or any other warning lights)on? For how long? What are the codes? How many miles on this SUV? Your mechanic has not tried “everything” or you wouldn’t be here so what has he actually tried - the “other things” besides a crank sensor? When it shuts off, does it re-start right away? After waiting how long? Does it restart without a jump?
Have you considered taking the car to a better mechanic? "Cause this one obviously is not getting it done.
