My 2003 Expedition is constantly dying on me and no one can figure out why. I have taken it to 2 different shops and they say nothing is wrong with it. When it starts to die on me I push the gas pedal down all the way to the floorboard and nothing happens. It’s like it’s not getting any gas but my husband swears if the fuel pump is going out the check engine light would come on and it never has. I am desparately needing some answers. I’m scared to death to drive this car anymore and no one is believing me about what it’s doing
Have someone check for a defective crankshaft position sensor.
This is one of the primary inputs into the comouter. If this sensor stops sending a signal to the computer, the computer see’s no reason to operate the fuel/ignition system and the engine shuts down.
