2002 Lexus RX 300

My automatic lock on the drivers side no longer work. i understand that the

ACTUATOR needs to be replaced.

is this costly?

where should it be done…dealership…local mechanic?

Somebody can probably give you an actual educated guess, but it shouldn’t be a big deal at all.

You can search autoparts places on the internet to get some notion of what the actual part will cost - keeping in mind that there will be a markup of some kind if someone else replaces it. And though I don’t know the Lexus in particular, that labor couldn’t be more than an hour or so for someone who know what they are doing.

If you are sure that replacing the actuator will do it, then you can also just call around to the dealer, local mechanic, and even body shop for a quote.
