My husband was driving and the truck began to smoke (light gray) out the tail pipe. He also put oil in the truck and the oil leaked right out. The car cranks and runs just smokes like crazy. I’ve heard it could be a thrown rod or crack head. Any suggestions??
My only suggestion is, find out where the oil is leaking from, and/or have someone actually look at the truck.
Why did you add oil if tailpipe is smoking?

That would be very obvious. Has he taken a look from underneath the vehicle?
That possibility wouldn’t be quite as obvious.
Unless your husband has very good mechanical skills, I think that you need to have the vehicle towed to a competent mechanic’s shop for diagnosis.
