2001 Dodge Caravan does not blow heat at high speeds

What ever happened to the day’s when you bought a thermostat or for that matter most part’s that requried a new gasket come with it now you have to buy the gasket extra.

What I wanna know is, where’s the spring from the old thermostat?

Hi Tester, that was all that came out… What I saw there at the stuff… Now I am scared of driving that thing

The thermostat housing has to be removed in order to install a new gasket/seal.

While the thermostat is out, look down in the engine to see if the spring is lodged into the bypass port.

If it is, reach down with needle nose pliers and pull it out.

fyi, thermostats fit more than one vehicle. So when you replace a thermostat, besides the new thermostat you have to also purchase the vehicle specific gasket that fits the housing. Usually the parts store staff will include the vehicle specific gasket you need automatically.
