I have a 00 lincoln ls v6 and recently started to overheat… 1 of my hoses had a leak in it so I replaced it and then I was told to look at thermostat and there wasnt 1,apparently I drove like this for a while and didnt know but there is a whining sound coming from water pump and 1 of the hoses has calapsed… What is the problem
Which hose?
Whining sound, to me, indicates the water pump needs replacement.
On a 19 YO vehicle I would not be surprised if the radiator flow is restricted by rust and scale.
Bad radiator cap can cause a hose to collapse.
