2000 ford explorer-parking brake adjustment

How do I go about adjusting the parking brake on a 2000 ford explorer, rear disc brakes. The Haines manual speaks about a parking brake shoe. Does that apply to rear disc brakes?

Mike

There are small brake shoes inside the rotor. The rotor acts as the drum. Just like regular drum brakes, only smaller (and only connected to the parking brake cable).

Have you looked at them? It is common for the shoe pad to delaminate. If they don’t work you may need new shoes AND HARDWARE. I can’t begin to say what a pain these are to do.
