I had my old 2500 ram fuel pump and straps or hangers and exhaust system replaced they removed the heat shield that ran along side gas tank which is approximately 6inches away from exhaust system and muffler is the cause for a possible explosion
No idea but that heat shield was there for a reason and I’d want it replaced.

Agreed on having the heat shield replaced.
Personally, I wanted something close to zero heat sources near my gas tank.

Did they tell you why they didn’t put the old one back on? If they just forgot it, the shield might be around. If they got rid of it, they can buy another one unless you told them not to put it back on.
