The heat shield around my exhaust fell off. Do you recommend replacing it? If I do not replace it will it “melt” the plastic trunk? Or worse yet, overheat the gas tank?
PS the part looks brand new, I would just use larger/wider bolts to mount it.
Everything on your vehicle has a purpose. They wouldn’t include a heat shield if it wasn’t performing some function. It’s there to protect against fire hazard. You may get away with not having one but there is a risk and it could turn out very bad. Just re-install it and then you won’t have to worry about it…
