Changing th e fuel sender in the truck Is there an access or does the tank have to come out?
Much easier to remove the box. Six bolts, unplug the electrical connectors at the back for the rear lights, and four guys can lift the box off.

Had a customer come back claiming that his sender/pump was not changed because he could not see any work marks on the tank straps,removing the box is the way to go.
Thirded. All the guys over at s10forum.com who have installed inline fuel pumps (or have needed to access the fuel pump for whatever reason) all recommend removing the bed rather than dropping the tank.
