1999 ford winstar transmission

my wife parked our van and when she came back to drive it, it wouldnt move in any gear.i checked the fluid and the linkage.i pulled the codes and it showed torque converter circuit and shift solenoid.is the shift solenoid easy to replace?any ideas, advise ,or comments…thanks

That shift solenoid is not going to be your problem, neither is the torque converter circuit. Electronic transmissions are designed so that even if you lose all voltage to every electronic component inside the transmission, the transmission would default into what we call limp mode and operate in 2nd or 3rd gear (Depending on the trans). Another telltale sign you’re problem is not electronic in nature is that Reverse is not working. Reverse is not electronically controlled at all. You have a hydraulic issue going on there. Next stop, A transmission shop. Sorry…
