I assume you have an automatic transmission and you mean shifting “gears.” As you drive, your transmission fluid, oil, coolant, etc. gets hotter and it sounds like your transmission doesn’t work as well when the fluid is hot. It’s likely your car is overdue for a transmission fluid change. Find a reputable independent transmission shop and see what they say.
I believe they came with a 5 speed manual also.
