1994 accord motor runs when key is off/lurching

I have no idea if these two things are related, but they both occurred within the hour. I turned my car off, left the key in, and went in my parents’ house. My dad came in and asked me why I left my car running. I drove to neighborhood mechanic and he could not reproduce. Came home, drove under carport, car lurched forward. Could these two things be related? I recently had my transmission rebuilt- is this a factor?
