I have a 1993 Ford Taurus GL with a 3.0 engine. I just bought the car about three months ago, and it seems I have a transmission problem. The transmission is fine when I’m on level ground, but when I’m going up a hill or up the mountain, it doesn’t shift as fast as it should. It pulls the car, it just takes about 30 seconds to shift. When I took it to the garage, they put it on a machine. The code that came up said excessive converter clutch slippage. I’m guessing my transmission is on it’s way out? Can I baby it along for a few months until I can afford to get another car? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
