A 1988 Yugo just sold on Bring a Trailer for $8100.00 USD .
There is no accounting for taste…
… or lack of same…
I always thought the Yugo was a good idea. How practical is it to have a spare car in your trunk in case of emergencies??
in April 2021, a 1986 sold for $7500, so they’re increasing in price. lol

One other Yugo on BAT sold for $9100 and a 3rd for $2600.
Those Yugos were bargains compared to $16,500 for this Honda 50:
No Reserve: 1986 Honda Z50RD Christmas Special for sale on BaT Auctions - sold for $16,500 on January 11, 2023 (Lot #95,520) | Bring a Trailer
As I observed from my comments on the Corvette shortage, “There’s a hole for every plug”.
Otherwise how can you account for the current prices of the 40 HP VW buses?
The Yugo was basically a renamed Fiat made in Yugoslavia and imported by Malcolm Bricklin, the man behind the Bricklin Safety Car and the more successful Subaru.
For a car that’s actually driveable and given the choice between a Yugo which may have parts available and the Bricklin Gull Wing SV1 I’d chose the Yugo (or a moped).
Yeah, folks spending a few thousand dollars is their business, lots of collectors spend what I consider crazy money for lots of different things, guns, stamps, watches, the list is endless.
Of course, if somebody spent Ferrari money on a Yugo, they’d be NUTS!
As my old friend the car salesman told me, " there’s an ass for every seat".
There Yugo!
The perfect car for @TheWonderful90s,
No airbags
No ABS
No stability control
No traction control
No seat belt load limiters
No seat bet pre-tensioners
No engineered crumple zones
No power anything
$8100 for a Yugo and people are complaining about $150K for a Corvette?
Why are you leaving me with the seat belt load limiters?
Because you want me to die!
My mistake, I corrected it.
