1987 Honda Accord dieseled

Car was deiseling & would not cut off. Started smoking & melted the console gear shift area. Finally got it turned off & after letting it cool down the gear shift wouldn’t change gears.

That seems entirely likely after you posted this:

Fire = Damage
30 year old Honda that’s been in a fire = Scrap Metal

This car is going to require some serious repair and some new (or gently used-no-fire-here) parts to get her back on the road. Very hard, if not impossible to find parts. Not to mention you’ll need to find out why the car caught fire. Is it really worth the rather significant amount of money you’ll need to spend to fix this car? I can’t imagine it is. Sorry.
