1983 chevy c10 parking brake

does anyone know where I can find a diagram of the parking brake system and it`s components for a 1983 chevy c10 pickup.
I recently bought the truck and most of the parking brake system is missing.
The cable connected to the parking brake pedal is still there and the cables connected to the rear brakes is still there but everything in between is gone.

Try LMC truck parts. I’ve been able to find parts for my early 70’s Ford truck there, using their online catalog.

Try the local Chevy dealer’s parts window. If you ask nicely they should be able to print an “exploded view” drawing for you complete with parts list.

This only leaves one part that is missing, but I’m not sure of the parts name.

It is only a short bracket that connects the main cable (from the E brake peddle) to the two cables that run to the rear drums. There would also be a spring that keeps everything snug so it doesn’t hang down.

I’m sure a dealer can name the part, but I doubt that is available for a vehicle this old.
Then you can go to a car recycler with the part name and they can line one up.

if you do find the parts you may as well order new cables all around. The old ones may have sat in this position so long (unused) that they are frozen in place.
This may be why the previous owner took those parts off. To free up the rear cables that were frozen in place.

Odds are they will have the drawings for the old vehicles. Many manufacturers have had their old microfiche stuff digitized. But you won’t know if you never ask.
