190e mercedes where is the sensor for electromagnetic engine fan

Can anyone tell me where the thermocouple sensor that turns on the engine clutch fan is located on a 1986 190e 2.3 ? There are three possibilities on the top front of the engine by the heater hose.

Sometimes you can tell. With the ignition switch in the on position, disconnect them one at a time and see if the fan comes on. Sometimes, you can compare the wiring from the fan with the one on the switch to guess right the first time, sometimes not.

On a 190 it’s on the block up by the thermostat.
