100 movie and tv cars

I would give my left pinky to own the Hannibal 8 from the great Race. Maybe I would just give my left pinky toe for $350,000 and be done with it. None the less, and after the fact, the Hannibal 8 is for sale.

I thought that the movie “Irma La Duce” with Jack Lemmon and Shirley McClain was great. I liked the scenes where the Paris police rolled up to Irma’ apartment building in Renault Dauphines. There were several Renault Dauphine squad cars and there were 4 policemen in each car.

What about Captain Nemo’s “otto mobile” in League of Extraodrinary Gentlemen? That was one of the coolest cars I’ve ever seen.

Regarding the movie “Harold and Maude,” I liked the older Hearse from the beginning of the movie better than the Jag-Hearse conversion.

A personal favorite of mine is the Ford LTD in “Men in Black.”

Third is the White 1970 Dodge Charger that was speeding, honking, right on the ass of the '55 Chev in “Two Lane Black Top” right before James Taylor swerves the '55 to avoid a flipped truck blocking the road. Couldn’t loose the Mopar  More significant is number 2, the '68 Charger in Bullit that I read in a old car mag years ago that it, or one of “it’s” was actually a toqueflight auto that was “shifted” tricky to “seem” like a manual! I understand how that’s done as I’ve done it in old Challenger 25 years ago and it can fool outsiders. However I guess the mag. was wrong. Ooops, straying, the '68 Charger in Bullit, great hub caps, quicker and meaner sounding than Steve’s one wheel wonder 'Stang. and more attractive. First is a tie between that '73 Mach 1 in the ridiculously long car chase from the above mentioned original “Gone in 60 seconds” and of course my Colorado hero Kowalski!!! Of which I’m glad the car that smashed into the light between the bulldozers was a early Camaro instead of the Dodge! Thanks Guys! Ciao!

Oh I’m sorry I forgot; any movie/show with a Ford Granada including the interlude to Cheers! Ok bye.

I see they have a new version of the General Lee.

Happy holidays!

Whoa, whatta bout the Chrystler concept car in “The Wraith”?

Has no body nominated Herbie yet?

American Graffiti is the # 1 car movie of all time hands down! my favorite one is the white 58 chevy belair.

The 1960’s TV Bat-mobile, Rockford’s Pontiac Firebird, Magnum’s Ferrari and the Back the Future Delorean.

Fozzie Bear’s Studebaker from the Muppet Movie!

I nominate Toby Radloff’s car in American Splendor. It’s one of those really old, super-ugly station wagons with the ceiling falling down–it actually belonged to my brother-in-law. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBv3TzH2jao

Genevieve. As featured in movie of same name.

The Ford Mustangs and GT40 in the 1966 French movie “A Man and a Woman.” The Mercedes 280SL driven by Richard Gere in “Intersection.” The Aston Martin DB2/4 in Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds.” The Mercedes 600 driven by Jack Nicholson, playing the Devil, in “The Witches of Eastwick.” The vintage Ferrari GTO driven by Tom Cruise in the opening dream sequence to “Vanilla Sky.” The Ferrari 550 driven by Nicholas Cage in “Family Man.” The Ferrari that Al Pacino gets to enjoy in “Scent of a Woman.” The Rolls Royce Corniche coupe´ Steve McQueen drives in “The Thomas Crown Affair.” The 1965 Lincoln Continental featured in “The Matrix.”

Herbie the Love Bug!

The Leslie Special from “The Great Race” is in the local automobile museum.

It is quite an attention getter. I have often wondered how the local entrepreneur got his hands on that and many other of the rare models.

PETERBILT 281 AND PLYMOUTH VALIANT from the 1971 made-for-
TV movie “Duel”, by Steven Spielberg.

I saw a DeLorean on a Fort Collins, Colorado street the other day. That has to be rare and it took me Back to the Future!
