The '68 Mustang in “Bullitt.” That or Inspector Clousseau’s Smart Fortwo 8-}
I thought of a couple more! The Mercedes R107 (450/380) SL Richard Gere drives in “American Gigolo.” The Lincoln Mark III that plays a central role in “The French Connection.”
Anyone mention the Ford Pick-up in Charles Bronson’s “Mr Majestyk”?
Two more that people have forgotten:
The 1967 Cadillac Deville convertible that provided transportation for Vida Boheme, Noxeema Jackson, and Chi Chi Rodriguez (Patrick Swayze, Wesley Snipes, and John Leguzamo) in “To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything, Julie Numar.”
The red 1969 Mercury Cougar driven by Tracy Draco (Diana Rigg) in “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.” Perhaps not quite top 100, but pretty close.
Has to be the white Challenger in Vanishing Point. Hot, Fast, American Muscle.
Whil an Isuzu Gemini may not be my fav…well this is a very interesting commercial
The old truck from Brokeback Mountain was pretty cool. It was a 1950 GMC pickup.
Another great pickup truck in the movies was the 1954 Chevrolet pickup that Steve McQueen and Ali McGraw used in the final escape to Mexico in “The Great Escape”.

That would be “The Getaway”.
Ali McGraw was NOT in the movie “The Great Escape”. That was a WWII movie loosely based on a true story of an escape at Stalag Luft III.
The Pinto moment from “Top Secret” can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dT0J0rcJTLo
Sorry Mike–I had the wrong title. The movie was “The Getaway”.
I saw the movie “The Getaway” once…it was OK…
But I LOVED “The Great Escape”…GREAT movie. Steve McQueen did his own motor-cycle stunts because the stunt man they hired couldn’t do them.
When Tommy said Dustin Hoffman I thought he pegged it but he got the wrong movie. I’d go for Rainman and the beautiful late 40’s (?) Buick Roadmaster convertible. Pale yellow with maroon interior. Lots of metal and the Dyna- Flow transmition.
1949 Buick Roadmaster. Straight 8. Fireball 8. Only 8,985 production models. Dad lets me drive slow on the driveway. But not on Monday, definitely not on Monday.
i don’t think they were ever driven but there were (I believe) 2 trucks on Sanford and Son. A 51 Ford and a Fargo.
It did not jump bridges or ram road blocks but when you think of Sanford And Son the flat red pickup always comes to mind.
The car from “The Car” it was black and REALLY SCAREY… Even thinking about brings out a little unease.
I also liked the Chitty Chitty Bang car. Who wouldn’t want a car that could fly!
The time machine from Back to the Future? Delorean DMC 12? My personal favorite movie car
