Incosistently when accelerating the car jerks (like when wheels spin out in rain). Car works just fine in Idle and has been working great, except for the occassional jerking. I would like to know what I should check and if its dangerous to drive, depending on what the problem might be.
Forgot to mention car has 199,000 miles on it. Car has had only one owner and no accidents.
Ever had a trans fluid and filter service?
Yes I have 5 years ago. I scheduled to have all fluids replaced this week. Filter? as in Fuel filter?
^
No, he is referring to the trans filter.
You are doing the right thing by scheduling a fluid (& filter) change, but I hope that you haven’t waited too long. The recommended interval for trans fluid/filter change is 3 yrs/30k miles, whichever comes first. I would not go 5 years between trans fluid changes, especially on Hondas–which have a poor record for transmission reliability.
Thank you for the tip. I will remember to do fluid changes more frequently. Thank you all for the tips.
