im am having problems with my power steering cuting in and out, started off when it was cold out, but now it happens in any weather. ex. when i go to start the car and back up and turning the power stering will totaly cut out and make some wineing noises. also does it when going forward and turning
If your power steering fluid level is OK then your power steering drive belt is slipping. Do you have separate belts or a serpentine belt?
i think there is just one belt, would i just have to adjust the tensioner or replace it>

The tensioner would only need replacement if it’s worn out. The belt needs to be checked for the proper tension and go from there.
