I’ve an '02 subaru wrx. a mechanic says that front and rear brake pads are down to 30%, the rotors are pulsing, and he recommends replacement of pads and rotors. do other folks also think that replacing pads at 30% is premature?
30% would be premature, except fro the pulsing. If it doesn’t bother you, then you could wait, as long as it’s not affecting braking. But I would replace the rotors along with the pads when the time comes.
