Working on transmission, pickup rolls, front tire kills man

Some area’s in MA and NH are now requiring sprinkler systems. Many area’s like where I live don’t have city water systems. If you live more then x-miles from a water source, then you may be required to install a sprinkler system. That means your Well now has to have a flow rate that can handle a sprinkler. Some people had to dig new Wells (or deepen the Well they have) to accommodate the new sprinkler requirement.

Sprinkler systems are required in new construction here as well. Or the bane of would-be remodelers, any time there’s a change to the roof design in existing construction. One day I was on a walk-a-bout passing a new house under construction. Trench recently dug, have to look, man-thing, I notice at bottom of trench there is a huge 3 " PVC water pipe running from the sidewalk water-meter to the house. Odd, b/c the 3" pipe connection at the water meter is only 3/4 " … lol … contractor happened by so I ask. He laughs, says he knows converting from a 3/4 " pipe to a downstream 3" pipe looks plain crazy, but the code requires it. Done so there’s plenty of pressurized water in the 3" pipe waiting to go for the sprinkler system.
