Why do they sell this oddball?

Turns out it makes a lot of sense:

Any guesses?

Citroën Relay Back to Back…

The idea behind the Relay Back to Back is to lower production and shipping costs . The vans are bolted together on a temporary structure and are tailored to third-party companies that build motorhomes, campers, or other types of specialty vehicles such as for recovery or emergency services.

On 90/94 going through Wisconsin and Illinois, I always see truck frames with engine and steering wheels and a box of parts headed north or west. Three or more together. Know not where they come from or where they are going. Maybe rvs, bread trucks, fire trucks, who knows, but I’ve never seen two bolted together back to back.

Have you ever seen the Oscar Meyer Weiner-mobile on the road? I see it once in a while.

Years ago when there was an Oscar Mayer plant down the road, we used to see the Oscar Meyer Weiner-mobile quite often, but not so much anymore…

More proof that marketing works: It’s an infrequent event, but whenever I see the Weiner-mobile I immediately get hungry for a hot dog … and usually have one that same day … lol … I haven’t been seeing it as much as before covid for some reason.

There’s also this one:

Gee, is that you? You’re cuter than I envisioned. If only I could have found another junk Morris minor.

Well, I’m sure that I AM cuter than you envisioned  But I didn’t title the video. (And she’s probably young enough to be my grandkid (if I’d started on kids earlier in life)).

‘Candid camera’ built a Volkswagen frame on top of 2 motorcycles. They drove it at things, then split at the last moment.

And what does that have to do with this dicussion ?

I saw this about 35 years ago in Goleta, CA and it’s still there.

I used to see it parked at the Rose Bowl.

And oddity is an oddity?
