When I accelerate in my 2001 Chevy Venture van it makes a whinning noise. If I stop it stop, it nly makes this noise when accelerating.
Sometimes the trannies on these vans (I have a 2000 Olds Silhouette (sister to yours)) whine on acceleration.
Mine does it periodically too, but nothing has happened.
It shouldn’t do it all the time though.
If the tranny shifts smoothly without ‘clunking’ it will be ok.
When was the last tranny fluid/filter change?
I do mine about every 25k miles as most of the miles this van covers is classified as ‘severe conditions’.
