98 Ford Taurus sedan, 175K miles. When I turn even slightly to the right, I get a loud vibrating noise coming from the front end. When I turn to the left the car quiets down immediately. I had this problem years ago and remember replacing the wheel bearing which immediately took care of the problem. My question is, does this sound like a wheel bearing and which one (drivers side or passenger side) ??
If the noise occurs while taking a right turn, it means the left wheel bearing is causing the noise. That’s the bearing that’s under load when turning right.
