What to expect from a 2005 Toyota Avalon?

Just purchased…89,000 miles
What should I expect, problems, reliability, etc
Thanks

Same as with any used vehicle there is not a set answer. You might have problems or you might not and possibly have problems no one else has had.

Unless you have written proof that the timing belt was replaced very recently, it’s way overdue, and that should be your first priority

Gates doesn’t have a replacement timing belt for the 2005 Avalon. According to a FAQ at Toyota, the Avalon switched to a timing chain for the 2005 model year.

You are correct . . . my mistake

It seems 2005 was the first year the Avalon had the 2GR-FE, which has a chain, must also be the first year of a new body style

It is the first year of a new generation, and for that reason it has a few more issues than most Avalon model years. However, even with that, it is much more reliable than most cars.
