Water in gas

I need the know how the car acts

It depends on the car and the amount of water. With six gallons in a seven gallon tank, I got about a mile and a half before it stopped. It ended up costing me a cracked valve. The station paid for it. (I was on of about a dozen who had the problem caused by a leak in the station’s vent system.

A small amount might not show up at all.

Maybe if you tell us the “rest of the story” we might be able to give you the answer to your real question.

Water contamination can cause slight pinging.

Is the problem that you got water in the gas tank or that you have some operating problem and are wondering if it’s caused by water in the gas?

Tell us the real question and what’s behind it and we’ll try to help.
