2002 model VSC activates no no reason interstate or city. Brakes grab I loose control. Toyota wants to replace the whole system since the codes aren’t showing why. I’ve been told to disable and drive old school. Repairs more than the value of the car

Can’t your mechanic determine exactly what is loose?
If he doesn’t tighten that loose part, you might lose control of your vehicle.
yaw rate sensor comes to mind
