Has anyone discussed the rather large problem with the Volvo XC90 transmission. I have read on Edmunds.com over and over about issues with this particular car (I think 2003 and 2004). I just received a TRANSMISSION URGENT SERVICE message and after reading all about it on this website, I am SCARED about what Volvo Service will tell me.
Any visit to a Volvo dealer for service is scary. Especially if your XC90 is no longer covered under warranty. Look for a good foreign transmission shop and take it there.
Older Volvo’s get expensive, so if you don’t want to spend big bucks on service, repairs, and maintenance your only recourse is to not own a Volvo. Consider selling it before you start ringing up big money on repairs.
