Volvo S60 T5R - Thoughts?

I test drove a 2019 S60 T5R yesterday. Very comfortable car. I’m an Audi driver (A5 Sportback) and have enjoyed Audis. But the Volvo yesterday drove very well. Has anyone had experience with the S60? I’m not near a trade but I could consider one in the future. Thanks and Happy holidays!

do you not realize just how few owners of a 2019 Volvo S60 you will find here. You need to search for a Volvo Forum or just do a web search for magazine reviews of a S60.

No idea what that vehicle is like… But that Volvo inline Turbo 5 cyl is a sweet mill indeed. I have a lot of respect for that engine… Both Volvo and Audi’s version.

Volvo did away with their 5,6, and 8 cylinder engines a while ago. The only engine they offer now (across all models) is a 2.0L I4 turbo. With some variants having both turbocharging and supercharging. You can even get a hybrid with a turbo-supercharged 2.0L and an electric motor. Needlessly complex IMHO.

Personally, If I’m going get a european luxury car, it’s going to have something more impressive under the hood. I can get a 250 HP 2.0L Turbo in Focus, Malibu, or Jeep

Suggest to check what the Consumer Reports New Car Guide says about its functionality, driving test results, economy, and predicted reliability and maintenance expense before writing any checks. You can also try the forum search feature here, might find some add’l info that way. Icon upper right this page.

Really?! Where the hell have I been eh? The did have an i5 I know this for true, but wasnt aware they dont make it anymore… I dont follow the latest n greatest vehicles, never have, because I dont see them much and certainly dont get to break…ahem repair them. So I guess I am out of yet another loop…lol

I tested the S60 T5 R-Design and I loved it. A huge improvement over the previous generation. If I am not mistaken the S60 is also now built in the U.S. However, I have to suggest to anyone shopping in this segment to consider a similarly-priced Tesla Model 3. One final tip: Have the dealer show you how to use Apple Car Play and Android Auto. It is not as easy as it should be and the issue is unique to Volvo cars. Here is a review:

It does seem to be built in the US… Berkeley County South Carolina. S60 production starting in 2019. Part of a growing car industry in South Carolina. The 3rd. BMW X models, Mercedes vans
