Valve adjustment cost for 1993 Corolla?

Hi,

I’m due for the a valve check and adjustment (if necessary) for my 93 Corolla. What should this cost?

Thanks!

We don’t know where you live, but the cost will vary by location. I would get a dealer figure, and also one from a reliable independent shop. The Toyota dealer will have a “standard” price for this service.

My son paid about $150 or so last year, in SE Kansas area.

It depends a lot on how hard it is to get the valve cover off. Some cars are extremely easy, wheras some cars require removal of a lot of unrelated components. Personally, I think adjusting the valves when you get the timing belt done is a frequent enough interval and they have to have the cover off anyways to do the belt so it should only take another 15 minutes or so to actually check the valves.
