Hello. I have a 2002 Dodge Dakota with a 4.7 L V8, 32 tooth crank engine. I am undecided whether I should stay with the 32 tooth engine or swap to the modern 16 tooth engine. Also, if i do swap in the 16 tooth engine, will i have to swap the transmission and ECU as well?

With modern vehicles, engine swapping usually turns into a nightmare. If the vehicle is subject to emissions testing, you can pretty much forget about it…And yes, the tranny and ECU must be changed to…But the newer engine and its ECU will not interface with your trucks wiring…This will all be “cut and try” not “plug and play”…
That is what I was afraid of. Alright, I will stick with the original. Thanks for the helpful information.
