I have a 2006 Toyota Tundra double cab I bought new. I started noticing a loud “clank” coming from my front end at about 32,000 miles. I took it to the dealer who said it is the brake pad moving in the caliper. He said it was normal, there is nothing they could do, and that my warranty is not going to help me. Will changing the pad and caliper eliminate the noise? Is it worth a second opinion and spending money to for a possible remedy?
If the brakes are the same as my 05 4-runner the pads should NOT be moving around. There’s a retainer clip that could have broke. If it is then that could cause some movement. I take it this truck is under warranty?? Take it back to the dealer. Or find a good independent and take it to them. A Loud “clank” is NOT normal.
