Other than the Auto Train, which covers only part of your trip, I’ve never heard of this being done before. I’d be surprised if an individual can arrange such a thing.

Although I’ve never done such a thing, I’ve heard from others that shipping a vehicle by train is a good way to go, and cheaper than a truck based car carrier. Individuals can and do use this method.

Today, freight-based railroads don’t mess with individuals shipping one car…Now if you have a full car-load, 10 or 12 cars, they might talk to you…Todays railroads make their money shipping bulk commodities…

Looks like it works from DC area to Miami, about $400 (and up) for 1 person + 1 car.
