Is the CEL on? The codes may tell us why your engine will not go over 2000 RPM.
Transmission loud—what color is the fluid? Chances are you will need a rebuilt transmission.
You need to clarify the complaint. Do you mean the engine will not rev over 2000 RPM and does this apply even with the transmission in neutral?
It would be unusual for an automatic trans to become very loud.
