Transmission Problems in a 1996 Plymouth Grand Voyager

My Plymouth has 143,000 miles it drives for 30-50 ft then it slips out of drive . It wont go any further I re start it and then it repeats .It works in reverse fine no problems . I just changed the transmission module with an used one . It repeated the same process this time the display doesnt move past D when you shift it to D3 D2 D1 . Any suggestions Hey I also changed the trans filter

Slipping out of gear usually indicates an internal hydraulic problem rather than an electronic problem. Have the TCM (transmission control module) scanned for error codes and CVI values. Do NOT go to AAMCO or any other large chain shop.

Thanks I’ll let you know the progress
