I have taken out this transmission 3x, it is a 4L80E, and still have no reverse. I am currently going to look at the direct clutch, but I am curious if anyone had anymore advice? Thanks!
If you have a solid 3rd, I would not suspect the Direct/Reverse Clutch. When you say you have taken out the transmission 3X, do you mean you have disassembled the transmission 3 times? Do you have a solid manual Low i.e. engine braking when shifted down to Low manually? If not I could look at the Low/Reverse band and servo. I would suspect a broken double wrap Low/Reverse band, the anchor pin, or the apply servo.
