I am attempting to remove the transmission mount from my Cavalier. It’s a 2001 2.2L 4cyl Engine w/3spd transmission. I’ve been struggling with how to get the mount separated from the mounting bracket. In the center of the rubber bushing of mount there is an odd metal piece. It’s circle in shape with 4 cut grooves, in the center of this is what appears to be a stud of some sort covers in plenty of rust. I’ve pulled the entire mounting bracket because I am very confused at this point. It appears that the circle metal grooves is welded to the bracket mount. Looking through the back side of the bracket mount I can it’s a solid piece… If there was a nut holding this part than it’s no longer existant.
