i have a 2002 toyota tacoma truck v6. when should a tranny flush be done ?
What does the owner’s manual say? There should be a maintenance schedule with the manual. It will tell you when the transmission fluid should be replaced.
If you find the word “flush” in the transmission section of the maintenance schedule, please let us know.
Never. Fluid is drained and replaced. Look in your owner’s manual.
Drop pan, clean pan, reinstall using new gasket, refill using Toyota fluid EVERY 25-30K MILES.
I would stay away from flushes unless the fluid is contaminated. If you must have the trans flushed, Have a transmission shop do it, NOT a fast lube or other small shop.
Otherwise service the trans every 25-30k miles.
