I have a 95 Nissan Pickup V6, Automatic, 4x4, around 150,000 miles. Transmission was rebuilt last year when I lost 2nd gear.
Truck runs fine now, shift points are maybe little high BUT after a long day of stop and go driving or after driving long distance this is what happens:
As I accelerate truck wont shift out of second and revs to maybe 4000 rpm and back down. Engine will start to sputter and loose power so at that point I’m doing under 20 mph and pulling into the closest parking lot. If I try to accelerate the truck doesn’t want to go over 20 mph and the tachometer bounces between 1500 and 2000 rpm. This is when I’ll hear a knock sound like dropping a bolt into a plastic trash can.
I have video at this link. Go to 1:30 and you can hear the noise I describe.

I see your CEL is on. First step would be to find out what the codes are. Most auto parts stores will do this for free. Post back the codes here (p0123) and Maybe the pros will be able to help.
It sure sounds like a drivability issue. Definitely find out what the check engine light is on for. Post the code/s here and we can go from there.
