I have a 2002 dodge dakota 3.9 L V6 4x4 auto.

it is having problems shifting

it is very sluggish when starting and does not want to shift down when climbing hills

what can i do?

All you can do with this transmission is check the fluid level and condition. Get the vehicle on a level surface with the engine and trans HOT. Place the gear selector in ā€œNā€, make sure parking brake is applied then check the level and condition. Top off if needed. Other than that, I would have a trans shop check it. It first needs a scanner on it to see whether the computer is commanding the shifts at the proper time. These transmissions had issues with their governor pressure sensors (Transducers) which caused erratic shifting.
